Play game bypass steam

To your first question, all Steam's game are encrypted in a way such that they could only be opened through Steam.

However, I've seen pirated version of L4D that could be install and play without Steam I fear that even discussing about this is against the forum's rule. Well if its illegal than I wont do it. Or do you need. Its rediculous if so Because on the game requirements it says absolutely nothing about need an internet connection to play the game Which is seriously frustrating me. Ive been searching for hours trying to figure out this problem. And I will keep searching until I figure it out.

Thanks for the information nic. Haha thanks Hatrox. I have had steam for a long time, just dont have steam on this new laptop. Now I think I have found the problem. It seems that it does need a. Which is heinous of the companies that make the games.

Why isnt everything on the game dvd in order to fully install steam? Yeah, but it is pretty rediculous. I have had to do so much just to install steam. Then I install steam, and the game, and now it needs to be updated in order to play in "offline mode" I like steam And now I get a steam error "The steam servers are currently too busy to handle your request.

Please try again in a few minutes. This is great!!!! Home Discussions Workshop Market Broadcasts. Change language. Install Steam. This topic has been locked. HELP: How to bypass steam-forced game update to just play the damn game?

Guess what, it uses Steam :- After an install of 1. That's a whole new copy of itself. I could have paid less just for the steam download code. I only have a limited wireless internet quota, and having to download 1. I mean I already set the game update to 'Do not automatically update this game'.

But anytime I press Play, the braindead steam goes to download the update!!! I understand steam enforces game update to bring the game to the latest patch to reduce support issues. But at least the choice to update the game should remain my choice depending on what bugs I encounter.

Thanks for your time and for any suggestion to get around this issue. Showing 1 - 9 of 9 comments. The only way to get around it would be to find a place that has better internet and download the game files to an external Hard Drive. Then take that HD back to your PC, make sure steam is not running, and copy the game files to your steam install.

Restart steam and try to run the game it may have to redownload the EXE file but that is tiny compared to the rest of the files. Thanks Vaemer-Riit, That is a great idea. I'll have to borrow my internet at work which is of course not appropriate but I'll have to wing it.
