Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Thanks for your feedback. I have performed the above registry operations but I do not hear any sound when I log off or log back on again. Other sounds do work. I can listen to music and talk to Cortana just fine.

Suggestions are welcome. Control Panel says that this WAV file is indeed my startup sound. Edit: I turned the computer completely off, then turned it on again a minute later.

Still no startup sound. Uncheck "Turn on fast startup" it does say recommended to check this box. If it is greyed out go up to the shield and click on "change settings that currently are unavailable.

I then shut off my computer. After a few minutes I started it back up and my startup sound worked.
